Fun with Fungicide Fundamentals

Another fun first for me at BTME was hosting the first Fungicide Fundamentals all-day workshop on Sunday, as part of the great BIGGA education programme.1024 x 576 - Fungicide Fundamentals presenters Two real highlights for me were the brilliant presenters who were able to make some really complicated science so applicable to real-life decisions in disease control, and the way the greenkeepers on the day were able to translate that into practical programmes for strategic disease control scenarios. 1024 - Fungicide Fundamentals planning So big thanks to my research colleagues from Jealotts Hill in Berkshire (above, left to right) - Karen Meade; Dave Bartlett and Andy Coran - and, from across Europe, Geert de Gronckel and Marcela Munoz (far right). But especially to Kate Entwhistle (2nd right) who gave us such an insight into turf diseases - using her incredible microscopy images and in-depth knowledge - that clearly explained why we need a science-based approach to future fungicide development. It really was a day to remember - and for the knowledge shared that will be beneficial for all involved for years to come. 1024 x 576 - BTME 2018 stand For those who managed to make it along to the stand, you got a bit of a flavour with our Proactive Fungicide Planner. But there's so much more we have to offer with understanding how the wider selection of fungicide actives we now have available can fit together. Thanks again to the presenters and to the greenkeepers for their contribution too. I'm really hoping it's an experience that we can share with many others in the future too.
