Spring and the first application of Primo Maxx

I had a great trip to Ireland last week to update dealers on Acelepryn (more on that for the UK in future blogs!) hence the sun bathing leatherjacket above.

Whilst the risk of cold nights doesn’t completely pass for a while yet, we can see some consistent warmth in the daily temperatures.

Most people I speak to have eased into Primo by now to make sure we make the most of that new season growth, in terms of thickening the sward instead of filling mower boxes.

If we’re aiming to fill in light disease scaring left over from troubled times, a PGR (plant growth regulator) like primo is going to encourage more lateral growth and tillering at a time when the grass is only thinking upwards, so its a great tool to have available.

Entries open on 14 April 2023 so put the date in the diary if your thinking of entering one of the 6 categories this year.

Syngenta sponsor the Operation Pollinator award but they are all worth a look to see which is most relevant to what you and the course have been up to this year.

To apply, or to have a look at what previous winners have been up to for some inspiration visit: golfenvironmentawards.com

Its a great project to be involved with!
