PPE must be stored in a clean dry, well ventilated and secure location dedicated to the storage of PPE. It should not be stored in the chemical store or permanently on a sprayer. Correct storage is vitally important to ensure the risk of cross contamination is eliminated.
This is a legal requirement and covered under the PPE at work regulations 1992.
As part of the NSTS sprayer testing scheme PPE storage facilities should be inspected when the sprayer is tested, I'm not sure how seriously this is taken in the UK and I'm often surprised by how little attention is paid to this subject.
Disposal of PPE used for pesticide applications is equally important and it should be treated as contaminated waste and disposed of by a reputable waste disposal contractor.
