PestTracker – The Movie

Last year the Syngenta #PestTracker was really well adopted by the industry and gave us a fascinating insight into the flight patterns of both Chafer and Cranefly.

There are many early insights from this exercise and I plead with you to continue to engage this season.

The Video shows the times reported by industry over 2019. The red dots are Cranefly and the yellow dots are Chafers.

You can see the CraneFly hatch began Around Mid April and reached it’s spring peak in May. Whilst insects were reported through the season the Autumn hatch reaches its peak around the End of September and then drops off very quickly.

At the moment there are no clear patterns between areas of the country and timings but there are some hot spots which could be Insect hotspots or areas where we have some very engaged Turf managers?

Only by gathering more data can we begin to learn from this. I look forward to receiving your responses.
