Everyone who has contributed &#8211; Thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Whilst it has some limitations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Only enthused turf managers entering data<\/li><li>Data concentrated to areas with higher levels of turf managers \/ Managed turf facilities<\/li><li>Accuracy of how many times the data is entered <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The real value of this program is looking at the hatching patterns of Craneflys and looking for some kind of correlation between climate and timings of the hatch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any future control measures for Cranefly and Leatherjacket will be highly dependent on timing and this data gathering exercise will be incredibly useful once we have 2 or 3 years of data under our belts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/greencastadvisory.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/carnefly-upto-19th-june.png?fit=900%2C243&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2111\" width=\"638\" height=\"172\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.metoffice.gov.uk\/pub\/data\/weather\/uk\/climate\/anomacts\/2019\/13\/2019_13_Rainfall_Anomaly_1961-1990.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Although we have limited data available to us, we can already begin to see a few patterns emerge. And those patterns are incredibly valuable for turf management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would appear that last Autumns dry period correlates loosely with the Spring hatch and this Autumns hatch seems to have started on the East side of the country first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/greencastadvisory.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/cranefly-upto-13-sept-2019.png?fit=900%2C360&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2113\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.metoffice.gov.uk\/pub\/data\/weather\/uk\/climate\/anomacts\/2019\/14\/2019_14_Rainfall_Anomaly_1961-1990.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re a long way from having enough data to confirm some genuine patterns but it&#8217;s a start. Thank you everyone for helping out &#8211; keep it going I&#8217;ll be interested to see what happens next &#8211; Will we see a hatch in the south East? Will it come later? How much later?
